Non-Profit

Valleytown Visionary Guild

The Valleytown Visionary Guild (VVG) was the result of a group of women, who having been transplanted, shared a mutual affection for the area and its charm. After many conversations and multiple dream weaving sessions, the ladies realized that their dreams would be best served by becoming a non-profit. Thus, the Valleytown Visionary Guild was born.

Valleytown Visionary Guild is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established with the mission of, “Picking up the threads of history and weaving them into the fabric of our future.”

Established in January of 2023, the goal from the beginning has been to support and promote the cultural and historical roots of this beautiful area known as Valleytown, including the towns of Topton, Andrews and Marble.

The board of directors and volunteers have collaborated with elected officials and organizations, as well as corporations and local businesses in fundraising and marketing campaigns.

Since its conception, VVG has worked to draw attention to areas and organizations that represent the town, its history and culture. As a result of this, VVG brought awareness to a local park named after a renowned historical figure, Percy B. Ferebee. Known for his business acumen and philanthropic nature, the board was inspired to fundraise on behalf of his namesake park. Alongside months of Ferebee Park promotion at local festivals, the board in partnership, with Cups and Cones Cafe, created and launched a custom drink, known as The Ferebee Firecracker, which not only revived local history but raised funds for the cause. In the spring of 2024, the town announced that they had secured a grant to makeover Ferebee Park bringing a happy conclusion to the Ferebee Park campaign.

As a follow up to this first campaign, the board established its first scholarship in the spring of 2023, which was open to any eligible graduating senior in the Valleytown area. Within the scholarship application, students were asked to describe their ideal business plan for the Town of Andrews and how they would implement it.

Most recently, VVG has joined forces with the Friends of the Andrews Public Library to makeover the library’s well-used multipurpose room and attached art gallery hall. The VVG plans to continue this partnership into other areas of the library, including outdoor space.

With hopes of fostering community amongst other 501(c)3’s and local businesses, VVG’s long term goal is to support like-minded organizations in both fundraising and marketing campaigns. VVG is also interested in expanding its reach to other communities within Valleytown.

The VVG’s future goals include fundraising activities, bringing the community together as well as providing education about this amazing area. Ongoing recruitment of individuals with a desire to volunteer and who have a shared passion for the mission of the VVG continues throughout the year. Fostering support from local corporations in both funding and volunteerism remains a priority even as campaigns and projects are ongoing.
